How does a graduate with no work experience come about finding a job?

I been applying for a job for the last 3 weeks and coming to a month, but I didn't get a single reply. Not sure if the lack of experience is whats pulling me back. My friend suggested that I should ask companies to see if they are interested in taking anyone for work experience, but how do I come abouts finding these companies? Other suggestions is just as good.....

  1. Hope that you have held some kind of job - even part time because any sort of work experience is always taken into consideration. If nothing else, look at a Company you think you would really like to work for and offer your Services for minimum Wage (pays for the cost of transportation) for a period of 3 months. Show them what you can do and you will gain some insight into the world of working people. It will be a very good experience and might land you a permanent job. Have done it and it worked wonders for me.
  2. Talk to your career adviser at your school, they could give you a hand at where to look. Are you calling back the places you applied within or about a week after? You have to make them aware that you really want the job.
  3. Go to a temporary hiring agency in your area... Bring a resume with at least your education, career goals, and high lite key pts that you are good at (organization, customer service skills, computer skills, whatever)... They will usually hire you for something and then bounce you around a few times until you get a temp to hire job...
