Any suggestions for finding part time summer work for a college student that pays decently well?

I'm 22 years old with 2 years of college under my bealt. Every summer since I was 15 years old I've worked for the familyl business. Unfortunately, for financial reasons I am now unable to do this. I worked in a frame and body shop. The problem though, is I never really learned any specific skill, I was just a helper. I live in a big city, but unforunately the classifieds are very specific and want people with years of experience and want you to be finished with college. Does anybody have any good suggestions on finding a part time summer job that could potentially pay well?

  1. My suggestion to you is to work for a law firm as a runner. The pay will be okay...probably not top notch, but it will expose you to different things that you certainly won't see in your family business...in addition, it might open doors for you that were otherwise remain closed. Also, they are usually pretty good with the perks such as "lunch" and "trips" and bonuses. Good luck.
