Was setting the slaves free to fend for themselves Really such a good idea?
When the slaves were freed, many thousands of slaves who had low IQ, limited language and job skills, no idea how to live in a civilized society and no education were "set free". Was it smart to "turn them loose" on America? We have ended up with inner cities filled with HS dropouts, career welfare recipients, gov't housing, violence, drugs, ignorance etc. Was it really "fair" to unleash people on the country who have come from dung covered huts, limited language skills and no idea how to behave in a civilized society? Wasn't it silly to assume everyone was equal when in fact they were not and still are not. Based on IQ tests, SAT tests, welfare numbers, unemployment and prison stats, wasn't it unfair to assume a culture with NO experience in civilization could make it on it's own? I blame good old Abe Lincoln for places like Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, New Orleans, Oakland, LA and DC. How can you blame people for not being ready to be civilized? Sorry, I live in Oakland and my half Filipino son is in the school district. Read up on racial IQ's Richard Lynn is a good start. I feel bad for them actually, what chance did they have?
Public Comments
- just WOW...that is all I can say....
- OMG.....no comment...
- And do you have the IQ results of slaves tested to show us as proof?
- dude, they need to put you in cage because you're obviously not ready for civilization. You're a child, all you do is post inflammatory crap like this and your grammar is horrible.
- No, the bad idea was having slaves in the first place. I blame Democrats for all those places you describes. Those places are crap not because of the race of the people, but the ideas of the politicians.
- abraham was going to send them home until ********** shot him in the head
- Please do me a favor and go to Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit and all of the other cities you named and give this speech on the main street of each town. I won't hold my breath waiting for your return.
- Abe was praised as being so great and he didn't even have a plan for the ex-slaves to become a apart of society or for them to be sent back
- Yes. It was a good idea. That is obvious to everyone on the planet, except for you and those just like you.
- Low IQ's, huh? Frederick Douglass was born a slave. After he was taught the alphabet by the slavemaster's wife, he became an avid reader and educated himself. He then went on to become a key figure in the abolitionist movement and an impassioned writer. Also, Sojourner Truth, who was born a slave, became another key abolitionist, writer, and suffragist. For people who weren't "ready to be civilized", they didn't do too badly!
- Yep I blame old Abe too. Little did he realize how the Slaves would suffer. He did poor planning and did not even try to prepare the Slaves in the huge Country called America. It would have been better then to send them back to their homes, that they were forced to leave. The Republican tradition continues on, even from way back then. They continue to degrade Poor People and ones who need help from Welfare. They even want to stop the Poor People from voting. They think it is the Poor Peoples own fault if they are Poor. Nothing has changed, and the plight continues on. Instead of the Black Slave suffering, alone, America has millions of Poor White People too. Even some Republicans have suggested to put the Poor People in Concentration Camps and make them work. So they suggest modern day Slavery. I suppose they will feed them Grits, ground oats, greens, very little meat and pay them $1.00 a day.
