do people get jobs straight away after they went to a career fair?

there's a career fair and all of my friends are going. i wanted to go too but i'm terrified of interviews and career fair is about mostly trying to make an impression on employers... that means a hell lot of interviews.... i don't want to let my friends see me as a nervous idiot anyway. so my question is.. has anyone who's ever been to a career fair, gets a job straight away? if this is what normally happens then i think i should pull myself together and go there tomorrow.

1. A career fair is just a big room full of companies with tables set up who give you information about their company and let you give them a resume or sign a sheet saying you're interested. It's not a high pressure situation, everyone's friendly, but there are so many people that the employer probably won't remember meeting you -- they'll look through the resumes they've received later and then decide who to call back. You can get a job straight away from a career fair, but be careful -- some of the employers can be shady. I got a job as a "management trainee" from a career fair that turned out to be door to door sales. Unfortunately, most quality jobs do require an interview and sometimes multiple interviews. Don't be scared -- the worst that can happen is they don't hire you. Just know that each job has a bunch of applicants so odds are you'll be turned down sometimes especially if the job is desirable, but chances are also that you will eventually land a good job if you are qualified.
