Should I bother sending follow up emails for a career fair held almost a week ago?

Curious, what would you say is the ideal cutoff to send a followup email? I hear the next day is nice since that day would likely still be fresh in the recruiters' minds, but I also hear 3 days is acceptable due to whatever pressing issues one may have.
