- When i'm out of inspiration I always take my mountain bike and cycle trough nature. Maybe it helps
- i just finished my year 12 art work. I found the best way to find inspiration was to take my camera out to a random place and take photos of anything that interested me e.g. shells on the beach, a leaf on the ground, children playing on the swings. Then i looked back on the printed pictures and used the images as a starting point. Or you could just think about something thats really important or meaningful to you and use that.
- I occasionally do as answerer "Amy Dee" does, and go out with a camera, but more often I take a sketchbook and manually draw things that catch my eye for at least a few moments. I usually carry a good range of colored pencils with me, too, in case it's colorways that spark my muse. One of the most intimidating things an artist can do is confront that blank page or blank canvas. If you work expressionistically, why not get a great big sketch pad, and stab, smear, or draw a line or a few dots on each of the first 6-or-so blank pages? Put the pad away for a few hours, or a day, and then look again at your "flashes," and see if you aren't inspired to add to any of them in a way that jump-starts that muse into singing in your head again. And PHYSICAL EXERCISE always helps!! So go for a short power-walk before your next planned work-session. :-D Good luck!
