Why do women have such an easy time finding work?

I rarely ever hear of women in my family or inner circle who spend more than a few days looking for a job before they get hired, some of my male friends, however, have applied at HUNDREDS of places over a span of months and still were unable to find work.

  1. Because they have tits.
  2. That's hard to believe in our current recession. Older women certainly don't have it easy when trying to get work that is given in preference to younger people. Fortunately, some employers are now seeing the value and experience of an older worker.
  3. yeah, right. I'm still looking with two degrees and three certifications. I barely got a job at the local food market.
  4. yisterday I was out hooking on the corner of 24th and Ash and some guy tried to rape me without paying for sex who sez we have an eezier time?
  5. A combination of effects. Gender quotas in the tech industry(tech companies offering higher sign on bonus's to female employee's and higher starting pay on basis of gender alone) and in some female dominated fields like nursing and teaching men are actively discriminated against by an "all girl's club". Also the industries men tend to go towards are being hurt bad in this government orchestrated recession. Almost every job lost since this recession began(meaning the vast majority) where male job losses. The vast majority of "gains" has been female employment gains. If they re-did the gender gap( and took out people like bill gates and warren buffet) I wouldn't be surprised if women out earned men. Because if I remember correctly there are more women in the workforce then men at the moment.
  6. Your male friends are less qualified. But not less qualified for being male. Why are all the women you know in your family or inner circle(is he in the mob?) but all the men among your friends? You need some female friends. Perhaps that will make you less fearful of women.
  7. It's really not that easy for most women, although I understand that more men are losing their jobs in this recession than women.
  8. Quotas require that women receive preference in hiring. If she's an ethnic ,lesbian woman she'll for sure get hired before any guy will.
  9. They need to come here then. Men can find jobs very easy here unless they have a criminal record. If my husband wanted to change jobs now he would have another one the very same day he put in one application, and we live in the US.
  10. I would assume it depends on the type of job your looking for. In my case it has been @ss hard and racking my nerves pretty bad. I've been looking for a new job since Nov. I have applied roughly at 30 places and have had only 2 interviews. 1 offered me another position of which I was not interested in, and the other I canceled the 2nd interview because when I really thought about it the commute time added to the regular work hours would just be crazy. It's SUCKS! Keep in mind I'm old as hell. Female/40. I don't think they want old women. I can honestly say this has been the least successful I've been while searching for employment. I shall press on regardless.
  11. Because it's the kind of jobs they go for. They go for receptionists, assistants, nurses, etc...men don't want to start at the bottom so they go for jobs they aren't really qualified for and then they don't get them.
