What can I do to better my chances at finding work?

I have been unemployed for a year and you name it i've done it from computer applications to store to store job hunting to temp hire places and still i haven't landed a job. I am really desperate because I have a mouth to feed and I really wanna give up but I keep pushing myself to keep trying. Now what can I do to find work besides everything I have done already?

  1. ok i am only 12 but i have watched a lot of shows that have to deal with that well first off is your appearence profesinal looking then if not then you need to get a suit also you need to go to the actual place and get an application face to face then you also need to walk and talk more profesinal also get a celephone if you do not have one it will help so that you know that you got the job faster
  2. It is great that you keep pushing yourself to find a job. From my experience, you never want to give up trying even though you might get discouraged if you don't get a call back. I would suggest try posting your resume up on job sites and be well prepared in the interviews. You might want to see if theres anyone that can look over your resume and help you revise it because you can always revise a resume to make it better and to revise for a specific job. I have revised my resume so many times already and I still think it is not the best that it can be. As for the interview, always be prepared, the first impression is always what people look for when they want to hire someone. Try practicing with a friend about the possible questions they might ask. Just keep trying, sooner or later you will find a job.
  3. You can try craiglist.com, careerbuilder.com, monster.com and yahoohotjobs.com. You may even try volunteering in a hospital in the meantime until you land something permanent. This would increase your experience. But keep trying and if possible you want to accept something permanent, because the longer you temp the harder it is for some companies to hire you permanently.
  4. You can try to list your resume in some of the popular employment website. See: http://www.jobcareersubscriber.com I know this website has one section on all those popular employment searching sites that might be relevant to you.
