How do I go about finding work in Montreal, QC? I speak very little french but am learning...?

I plan on moving to Montreal in January to meet up with a few friends. I have researched Canadian working visas and etc. but it says I need a job offer to obtain one. How do I begin the process of finding a job? Should I be applying to recruiting agencies, cold calling businesses, or what? very confused. Help!

1. You are pretty well unemployable in Quebec. Nearly all jobs except in Anglo institutions like English language schools requre French. Unless you have some sort of expert skill [in an area where there are no Canadians or permanent residents to take that job], you are not going to get a work permit.
2. Well, you should be well educated in French because many jobs only accept bilingual people... so I suggest you take French classes to be on the safe side. But you can look through Montreal newspapers for job offerings and stuff, Im sure you'll find something.
