How should I get a job at McDonald's?

I want to get a job, possibly as Mickey Dee's. You have to fill out the online application. How can I make my application stand out? Does anyone who's been hired have any advice? How did you get your interview and what did they ask? Thanks!

  1. Why would you want to work in McDonalds? :S Really, working in McDonalds doesnt need alot of qualities so it wont really matter what you put. LOL
  2. Job applications are always gruelling - how should you complete them? Should you chase them up when there is no answer? I suppose there's no one solution but the site in the box below has some brilliant guidance about this. It certainly helped me when I was composing job applications recently, plus they have alternative stuff on job seeking.
  3. Don't get a job at McDonald's, if possible. My friend works there as a college student and he says the work environment is horrid. Plus, you'll probably never eat their food again. Try your corporate supermarket chains - The A&P, Shop Rite, Target, CVS, Wal-Mart(last resort) Also try local pharmacies.
  4. Hi. If this isn't your first job, having no more than (2) jobs in the last year helps. Having a wide open availability makes you very attractive as a hire. A minimal salary requirement is obviously a plus to them, as this industry typically doesn't pay much above minimum. Write that you're able to start immediately, if it asks for a date, put tomorrow's date. Call the store in 3-5 days if you don't hear anything, preferably around a slow time of day (11am till 2:30pm and 5pm till 7pm are no-call times since they are busy) and ask to speak with the manager on duty, Let them know you filled out an application for their location and ask about the availability of positions. Always be very polite.
  5. Trust me. You can find a better job than "Micky Dee's." Try working at a store. Working at a fast food place is unenjoyable. How do I know this? Because I've worked at a fast food place myself and it was without a doubt the crappiest job I've ever had.
  6. yes, simply go apply online and after you have applied then go to the mcdonalds you applied for, ask for a manager, tell them you have done the app online and you are just checking up on it/ progress. they will call you when they want an interview as long as they like the app. you really dont need to make anything special.
  7. I just got hired there yesterday. What happened to me is i applied online then a day later I got an email confirming an interview. I picked the time and everything. Had the interview with the hiring manager, then she gave me a few forms for me to fill out. She told me to hand them back in the next week. A few days ago I handed them in and yesterday she rung me up asking for an orientation on Saturday. Every McDonalds is different in the way they hire and interview. They may ring you or email. Try to fill out the application as truthful and genuine as possible. Then wait 3 - 5 working days and call back for a follow up of your application if you havent got anything.
