getting a job on a oil drilling platform?

what is the best engineering school and the best type of degree to get a high paying job on a offshore oil drilling platform

1. There are degrees in petroleum engineering, but I was offered a job offshore on an oil drilling platform with a degree in Engineering Science. There were also guys that got offered jobs that had Mechanical Engineering degrees and Chemical Engineers. I'm sure there are others. They'll take lots of different kinds of engineers.
2. Most graduates in Chemical, Mining , Mechanical engineers can work on drilling operations. working on offshore platforms require high endurance, and it seems you are one of those people.
3. There are a very limited number of engineering jobs on the off shore platforms. Those that are available pay well but not as well at some of those onshore. A degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical or instrumentation can lead to a job in the offshore industry. It doesn't really matter which school you go to as long as it is accredited.
