can you get section 8 without a job?

Im about to have my first born and my mom says we have two months to move out. he makes around $20,000 a year which is under the 50% like it says, and im going to have a new born so i cant work all the day cares say 12 months or older plus the $500 a month to pay for the care which would be more than i would make anyway. so do you think we can get section 8 and if not what are we supposed to do? i want serious answers not people to tell me im a bad mom... all the day cares told me no they cannot take my kid till she is at least 12 months i cant have a job a have a baby at home, unless there is some miracle job where i can bring her i wanted people who actually know what they are talking about to help me No there are no daycares anywhere near me that takes a baby under 12 months. I called everywhere and they all gave me the same answer and do not know of any places that accept a new born

  1. So are you married to the babies Daddy or just playing house? You need to find a job or the babies Daddy needs to find a second job to support your child or con your Mom in to letting you sponge off her some more. Why is it the duty of the tax payer to pay for your housing because you were irresponsible to have a child you can not support. So stop breeding & get a job! If you wish to be a good Mother, you will do anything you have to in order to support yourself & your child. No one should be forced to help you pay for your bad decisions. So get off the computer & go sign up for welfare, figure it out for yourself. Don't ask is for information to help you steal money from us.
  2. You have to have a job. You can get disability for 6 weeks after the baby os born but after that there is no excuse not to work. MILLIONS of women in this world manage to have full time jobs and give birth, it is not that hard. Section 8 is for low income families, not families that want to stay home all day. If you are low income you will qualify for subsidized child care so you can get off the couch.
  3. Those women who posted know what they are talking about. You can get day care for a child at 6 weeks. You did not look hard enough. MOST mothers work and support their children, you can't use the child's existence as an excuse not to support it. That makes no sense at all.
  4. Who makes $20,000 a year? Your mother or your boyfriend? You dont need a job to get a Section 8 apartment but it takes a few years to get to the top of the waitlist. I can understand you wanting to stay home for a few months to take care of the baby and not working. Your household income is not too high but you have to include everyone in it on the application. Since Section 8 waitlist is so long, you had better find another way to move out. You can either move to another town that is cheaper, do some on-site apartment management, share a house with another family. Get the list of subsidized apartments from your county Housing agency.
