What age would be best for trying to obtain a high paying job?

I'm only 18 at the moment and I'm still working at an entry level job, just enjoying life, hanging with friends and playing video games. I know that I'll have to get a high paying job in the future in order to live successful, so what age should a person try to get into a high paying job instead of focusing on enjoying life?

  1. Age doesn't make a highly paid employee. Education and experience do. Are you doing anything to improve those items? Otherwise you will not get a highly paid job. Now, if you have the motivation to start your own business, or work from home - this site may be worth your time. It tracks the experiences of someone who is learning how to earn money online... http://earnmoneyjourney.blogspot.com/2010/08/welcome-to-earn-money-journey.html Read from start to finish to get a head start. In order to make money online takes considerable determination and patience, though. Not everyone can do it.
  2. The sooner the better. Employers are looking for motivated people. If they see a 19 or 20 year old who has been "taking it easy" and enjoying life, they know that this person is not a mover and a shaker. If you want to be considered for a higher paying job, you need to have the education, motivation and experience to get there. If you don't have the experience, you can make up with education and/or motivation. If you have none of the three, you will be passed over for the higher paying work.
  3. I would say 20 or 21... Try going to careerbuilder, and checking there, search in the customer service field, if not, then retail. Help me? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100817135154AA15NvS&r=w
