How do I get a part time job?

I'm a sixteen year old girl and I would like to work in fun places like a bakery or a clothes store (something like H&M, Papaya, PacSun, etc.) How can I get a job there? Do I just go up to store workers and ask if they need an employee? I've always wondered where I could get a part time job. I DON'T WANT A JOB OFFERED FROM A FRIEND/ FAMILY, I WANT TO FIND A JOB BY MYSELF. I feel like I'm just taking away money from them, instead of working.

  1. unfortunately you can no longer get a part time job thanks to obama the idiot
  2. You could do this, especially for small, independant stores such as a bakery. But for larger chains you could always go online and submit your resume. Some stores may have a "now hiring" sign up on their windows. Just start putting your resume out there, and eventually someone will call you back.
  3. Yeah you just go to their sore, ask if they are hiring, if they are ask them to give you a job application. take the job application, fill it out, and bring it back to the store along with your resume. Now it is really important to give the application to the store MANAGER, and not the employee. If you give it to the manager you would have a better chance of getting hired. You then just wait for them to call you back. Its that easy.
  4. You can either go to their Web sites and see if there's a place to apply on line, or you can go in to the store and ask the manager on duty for an application, which you will take home and fill out and then turn in to him. If your friends and/or family know of any jobs that are available, though, why not consider them? Learning about positions from friends and family is a very legitimate way to find work. It's known as "networking".
